| I make drawings and sketches like these on-site to assist me later in the studio. I also begin gouaches and small oils on location, en plein air, but the drawings are usually the only artwork I do that does not later undergo modifications. By contrast, the oil and gouache paintings are typically transformed through many repaintings before anyone sees them. |
